Boater's License

If you wish to rent a vessel in the State of Florida and were born on or after January 1st, 1988, you are required to obtain a boating license. If you book with us and fail to obtain a license if you are required to do so, your rental will be cancelled without a refund. If you were born prior to January 1st, 1988, you only need a valid driver's license to rent a vessel in Florida.

There are several companies that offer temporary boating license courses online. These courses are an additional fee (approximately $10) and are not included in your rental fee. Upon completion of the course, the license is valid for 90 days. You will be required to carry it while operating the jet ski. Below are two websites approved by the State of Florida to offer boating license courses.

Florida Boat Rental License & Online Test | Boat Ed® (boat-ed.com)

You may also enroll in a Florida lifetime boating license course using the link below. This course is free, and the license is valid for the life of the user. However, this course is much more in-depth than the temporary course, and takes between 4-8 hours to complete. This is a great option for Florida residents or individuals who rent watercraft several times a year.

In addition, below is information from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commision (FWC) relating to a boating license.
